Experience
Throughout my years at Auburn University I have had the chance to volunteer and work with children. These experiences have taught me a lot and will help me in the future working with children.

Auburn Early Learning Center
Over the course of about a year and a half, I have spent my time volunteering at the Auburn Early Learning Center (ELC). The ELC is an accredited preschool that serves children ages 2-5 in half-day sessions. The teaching philosophy of the ELC is that children "learn by doing". My time at the Early Learning Center has taught me how to build rapport with children and how to best support them developmentally. As well as planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. You can see my planned activity for dramatic play (an apple stand for the fall-themed week) and the kids participating in the picture to the left.

Baby Steps Club
Baby Steps is a club that encourages students to finish their education while pregnant and provides them with the means to do that. They provide housing, support and community at no cost. I have been a part of Baby Steps since being a HDFS major. I help out with child care whenever I can.

Human Development and Family Science Professionals Club
The HDFS Professionals club is an on campus club that helps students with anything they need professionally and prepares them for the future by helping with things such as resume, interviews, trainings, guest speakers, etc.. As well as service projects for the community like the one seen in the picture.
