About Me

My name is Kyleigh Moore. From a young age, my family instilled in me the importance of helping people and being there for people. So, it is only natural for me to have gone into a helping profession like HDFS. It wasn't until my senior year of high school that I knew I wanted to help kids specifically.

I am a recent graduate from Auburn University, I have received my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Science. Human Development and Family Science’s main focus is on helping people. In HDFS, we learn about why humans and relationships function the way that they do. In the future, I plan on attending Graduate School for Child Life and becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist. Ever since working with kids in high school, I knew I was going to work with kids in one way or another, for my first three years at Auburn I was a pre-nursing major but later I did research on what the HDFS major and Child Life is specifically and knew that was a perfect fit and I know that this is what I want to do.

I was born very premature and spent months in two different hospitals. The nurses and workers in the hospital at that time helped comfort my parents. That is what I want to be for other families, I want to comfort them and their kids in a time of stress. This experience has given me the strength of gratitude and allowed me to be even more grateful for my life.
